Johnsons Coaches Stay On The Road With New Digital CCTV Solution

The Brief

 Central to Johnsons Coaches successful operation is the ability to provide vehicles on demand as and when customers request. With an increase in crime and vandalism in the local area it became apparent that there was a risk of a coach becoming damaged causing it to be not roadworthy, leading to a loss in business revenue.

When the security was reviewed at Johnsons Coaches premises, it became obvious that there was a requirement for a digital CCTV solution to monitor operations and record incidents. High quality remote controlled cameras combined with a digital video recorder to simultaneously provide remote access, high resolution viewing, recording and playback would be essential to monitor operations and improve security.

 

The Solution

Combining traditional cameras with the latest digital capability, the new CCTV solution has been designed to offer Johnsons Coaches secure storage of their vehicles. The system comprises high speed dome cameras and 16 channel digital recorders from LILIN and supplied by Blenheim Security Installers.

Cameras are located in various areas of the premises including the purpose built workshops, bodyshop, over coaches and entrance and exit points. The cameras are controlled by operators who use presets to set camera target combinations for specific high risk coaches.

The digital video recorder allows Johnsons Coaches to record from multiple cameras simultaneously, play back recorded video and download to CD-RW. This can be achieved off-site, enabling staff to monitor and record any suspicious activity.

 

The Result

Before the implementation of the LILIN complete solution, Johnsons Coaches would spend hours worrying over the security of their vehicles. Now they can relax knowing that their coaches are safe and if any incident were to occur it would all be captured on camera.
