New H.264 Digital Video Recorders

A compact 4 channel DVR with monitor power saving functions. The H.264 compression speeds up transmission

across networks and improves hard drive efficiency by 40%.

Maximum resolution is increased to 720 x 480 and maximum capacity is 1Tb. Downloading recordings is simple with the options of USB, H.264 or AVI files.

Navigation through the LILIN standard menu is assisted with a GUI which includes settings for cameras, monitors, recording, alarms, system, network, PTZ and backup. The DVR can be operated by mouse, IR remote, or the push buttons on the unit.

With a choice of monitor outputs including composite and SVGA, remote viewing is also simple utilising Internet Explorer. No additional software is required.

What is H.264 Technology?
H.264 is the next-generation video compression technology in the MPEG-4 series. Providing stunning video quality at substantially lower bit rates than previous standards this ultra-efficient technology provides excellent results across a broad range of bandwidths.

LILIN is applying unmodifi ed H.264 compression in all new DVR’s and our new range of IP equipment. Maintaining these standard versions of H.264 increases cross platform compatibility making it simpler to see video on handheld devices and different computer operating systems without the need for custom software.

H.264 also has some very real benefi ts for use in CCTV applications, it has predictive abilities that work with moving images – such as panning cameras, to maintain small fi le sizes despite the scene changing as the camera moves. It also includes deblocking filters that smooth edges and produce cleaner images.

H.264 is not limited to any specifi c resolutions and will continue to be used when CCTV resolutions increase to HD and Megapixel, so it’s a great platform for the industry now and in the coming years.
